Despite the ongoing drought in California, the 2014 vintage offered an outstanding crop of extremely high quality fruit and one of the earliest harvests on record. Mild winter temperatures resulted in early budbreak and after a warm spring, sunny days delivered steady ripening throughout the season. Because this vintage followed in the footsteps of two consecutive stunners, the vines were in optimal condition and produced succulent, well balanced, well textured, extremely aromatic fruit.

Created from a blend of Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon and Monterey Malbec, Vendetta is an alluring full-bodied red that offers dark fruit, intriguing mineral qualities and a textured palate. Lake has a relatively cool climate allowing the Cabernet to ripen over a longer a longer period of time than it would in most other California appellations. This gives the fruit great dimension and rich aromatic properties that meld perfectly with the earthy mineral tones and red fruits of our Malbec. Once harvested, the grapes were cold soaked for extraction and fermented in barrel.
Abundantly spicy with notes of pepper and toasted wood, the debut vintage of Vendetta boasts juicy fruit, a velvety mouthfeel, and supple tannins. What begins with an intriguing nose of lavender, leather, and graphite emerges with rich layers of cassis, cherries, and wild raspberries. Concentrated yet elegant, it's a wine you can't refuse
