I designed a new label reminiscent of this old bottle and created the Diamond Collection Black Label Claret, which is our company’s most recognized offering. Francis Coppola Diamond Collection 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon

Diamond Collection wines are classic California expressions that offer fruit-forward, multi-dimensional flavor and immediate drinkability. Diamond Collection Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of fruit from appellations as far north as El Dorado and as far south as Paso Robles. This soil diversity helps us produce a more complex wine. Furthermore, some of our vineyards experience a unique diurnal temperature pattern where extremely hot days are offset by very cool nights. This slows the ripening process and creates a broader mosaic of flavors.

Vintage Notes

We came off an early vintage in 2014 only to have an even earlier season in 2015. Limited rainfall in the spring helped reduce yields and contributed to excellent concentration in our Cabernet. There is good interplay between the juicy freshness of this year’s fruit and the smoky earthy characteristics this vintage displays. With supple tannins and good weight, this wine offers a velvety mouthfeel and flavors that are long lived on the finish.
