2016 saw California’s first rainy winter in years and the much-needed precipitation had a healthy effect on the vines. Warm spring temperatures arrived a few weeks ahead of schedule, but the grapes matured slowly, developing aromatic intensity, concentration, and optimal balance.

Pinot Grigio is grown in California’s cooler appellations where chilly evening temperatures and a regular incursion of fog help the grapes retain their crisp natural acidity.

Pinot Grigio comes in several styles and is influenced by the soil it is grown in. To capture the unique floral character this varietal demonstrates, this wine was fermented and finished entirely in stainless steel rather than oak.
